Diminish Mold in your Home with a Few Simple Steps
Do you have trouble with mold in your home? Does it seem as though your family is constantly sick with sinus-type symptoms like watery eyes, sneezing or other respiratory problems? It very well could mean that they are suffering from mold allergy symptoms caused by mold growing inside of your home. Mold and mold spores are in the environment all throughout the year both, indoors and out. Although more widespread in warm, humid climates, molds exist throughout the globe. Usually “fresh” air contains more mold spores than pollen grains.
Mold spores can deposit on the lining of the nose and cause hay fever symptoms. They also can reach the lungs, to cause asthma or other serious illnesses. Sometimes the reaction is immediate, and sometimes the reaction is delayed. Symptoms often worsen in a damp or moldy room such as a basement; this may bring on mold allergy symptoms.
There are several things you can do to help diminish your mold allergy symptoms. Never leave wet clothes in your washing machine. Even if they are sitting dormant for one day, small amounts of mold can begin to grow. Wash and clean out your water collection tray in your refrigerator. If you are sick and you use your humidifier, make sure to clean it out very well once you are done using it. Put the pillows from your bed in the hot dryer once a week to kill any dust mites that are living in your pillow or who may have hatched eggs. By taking these few precautionary steps, you will be on the road to healthier living for you and your family.
